I recently bought an ‘02 600 F4I. The only thing I’ve done to it was replaced the FPR (previous owner told me it needed to be replaced) and did an oil change. The FI stays on while driving but flashes at a stop. Did the error code diagnostic thingy and it seems to give me 3 different codes maybe? Gives 2 flashes then 8 flashes then 9 flashes so I’m confused as to if it can actually do that or I’m just reading it wrong?

I have a 1987 CBR600F-H (US model) with erratic sparks coming off the left HT ignition coil. Coils, HT cables and plugs are new. I borrowed an oscilloscope and checked the signal from both the pulse coils. For the pulse coil trigging the right HT coil the wave pattern looked sound. The wave pattern for the other pulse coil was very erratic and compeletely different to the other. I'm now looking to replace both the pulse coils. There are a lot of used pulse coils on the web. If possible I want to have new pulse coils. Anyone that knows where to buy these coils? I'm also looking to replace the Spark unit (ICU). What type of Spark unit do you recommend as a replacement to the original Honda unit that I believe is obsolete? Thank you in advance.

Weird clicking and juttering, Need advice

When I shift into gear (both on and off stand) and engage the clutch while in gear I hear clicking sounds coming from near the output shaft. The output shaft seems to "jump" for lack of a better term. Its not a consistent thing with rpm and if I spin the transmission with the clutch plates removed I can't hear it while in gear. I have inspected the clutch basket and plates and all is good there. I have a new chain and sprocket kit. The noise and jumpy-ness is also there with or without the chain on. The clicking usually starts around engaging the clutch 25% and continues even to 100% engaged.

Symptoms
-Clicking noises near output shaft
-Jumpy/jerky output shaft
-Consistent in all gears (except neutral)

When it happens
-any rpm
-in any gear (except neutral) with at least 25% clutch engagement
-seems to happen whenever, not consistent with a certain spot on the output shaft
-with or without load on the output shaft (chain on/off, bike on or off stand)

What I have tried
-Inspecting clutch plates and basket for grooves (Minor grooves, but nothing to write home about, seen worse, bike has 24,000 km on it)
-new sprockets and chain (rebuilding the bike, as its a project bike)
-Tried in every gear while on stand
-Tried in first and second off stand

Any help/ideas is greatly appreciated, I believe I'll be splitting the engine apart to fix it, but would like some suggestions on what to look for before I go too far.

Thanks in advanced for any help. :)
The kickstand light turns off when I pull it up, and it still cuts off, so I pulled off the clutch switch jumped the wires, and it started up in gear. So what do I need to do? I already replaced the clutch switch, and it still has the same problem, so I don’t know, and I believe the neutral switch is fine.

Hello everyone,

I have aquired a 1990 CBR600f (last of the f1 models) and it hasnt ran since 2014 (allegedly) that being said the bike has been untaxed since 1998 so i suspect that is the last time it was on the road.

My goal at the moment is just to get the engine running.

I have purchased a new battery, taken the carbs off and cleaned the jets, floats, float bowls, slides and needles.

It has oil in it and it looks clean, i was planning to just chuck some fuel in it and see if it fires but im waiting on float bowl seals and a new ignition barrel as the key was lost. is there anything im forgetting or should do before attempting its first start?

Hello all,

I'm trying to work out the color scheme for my newly acquired CBR600F.

Currently, it is painted red, white, and a rather dark blue.

It's a 1990 model with stickers showing NH193P and NH193K color codes. It also has "Hurricane" written on the tank; I thought that was only for the American market. Is that correct?

Any help appreciated :)

Need some suggestions! After cleaning up some wiring for my tail lights I went to start the bike and the dash is completely dead. The bike still starts and runs fine. Indicators have also stopped working. When turning the ignition on the fuel pump primes but doesn’t stop, just stays on continuously until the kill switch is hit or the key is taken out. Any ideas would be apppreciated 👍🏻

Hello all. Got a question for you.

I have an older model Honda ('85 VF500F interceptor) and one issue it has in particular is that the idle adjustment screw is about 2" long, and tucked in between the two cylinders on the front of this V4. You basically get one quick chance to adjust the idle, and then chances #2- infinity involve burned hands (you have to rest your hand on the head to do this), burned fingers, and loud cursing at the engineers that designed such a stupid location and far-too-short adjuster.

I'm trying to find an idle adjustment cable from a later Honda, hope that it fits the same threaded hole on the carb, and use that instead...and of course I'm looking at the longer the cable, the better. I found one from a 99-00 F4, and the seller measured it at about 10". Another seller supposedly had the same cable from the same bike, and it measured in at 14".

My question that you may know: how long is the OEM idle adjustment cable on this bike? Did they come in two different lengths? I know...it's now NLA from Honda and has been for some time, but I'm still on the search for one if you have one.
