Need some suggestions! After cleaning up some wiring for my tail lights I went to start the bike and the dash is completely dead. The bike still starts and runs fine. Indicators have also stopped working. When turning the ignition on the fuel pump primes but doesn’t stop, just stays on continuously until the kill switch is hit or the key is taken out. Any ideas would be apppreciated 👍🏻

99-00 F4 idle adjustment cable info needed

Hello all. Got a question for you.

I have an older model Honda ('85 VF500F interceptor) and one issue it has in particular is that the idle adjustment screw is about 2" long, and tucked in between the two cylinders on the front of this V4. You basically get one quick chance to adjust the idle, and then chances #2- infinity involve burned hands (you have to rest your hand on the head to do this), burned fingers, and loud cursing at the engineers that designed such a stupid location and far-too-short adjuster.

I'm trying to find an idle adjustment cable from a later Honda, hope that it fits the same threaded hole on the carb, and use that instead...and of course I'm looking at the longer the cable, the better. I found one from a 99-00 F4, and the seller measured it at about 10". Another seller supposedly had the same cable from the same bike, and it measured in at 14".

My question that you may know: how long is the OEM idle adjustment cable on this bike? Did they come in two different lengths? I know...it's now NLA from Honda and has been for some time, but I'm still on the search for one if you have one.

I'm having a problem getting my cbr600fx(f4 carb) carbs back on.When I first got it the carbs just pulled off, the clamps weren't at all tight. It took me ages, then I was told about the holes in the frame for extra long screwdrivers. Carbs off today as it has a mis fire, loose plug connector. I can got the outside carbs clamps into a position where I can get to them and tighten them . I can't get to the middle two, I've taken the carbs off a few times today and turned the clamps, I can't seem to get to them. Any ideas?Ta Ray
