I would really like some more input on what RPM everyone shifts at?

Most of with the F4i have similar mods... slipon, K&n, power commander, -1 front sprocket, etc.

I just ASSUMED that since the bike 'feels' like it's pulling to redline, that I should shift at redline.

So, what RPM are you guys shifting at?

I shift my rig at like 13,500-13,800. I feel a noticeable drop in power after 13k so It doesn't seem productive to keep revving it out.

Shifting past your max horsepower rpm is a waste of time, and bouncing it off the rev limiter is just plain stupid. IMHO

Umm... no one is talking about bouncing off the rev limiter.

And yes, you DO shift after your peak horsepower, depending on the power curve, because when you shift and the RPM drops, you want to stay within the powerband. If you had a totally flat power curve, then, yes you'd just shift at peak hp.

In a perfect world, you would want your rpm to fall back to your max torque rpm because, thats where the real pulling power is.

Torque= acceleration
Horsepower= top speed

Of course, I'm old so I could be wrong...but, I've won plenty of drag races in my time, so I think I will keep doing it my way.
