Yes, but the V-Rod is the only Harley that has a modern engine in it instead of a giant primitive pushrod-driven lump.

 

same argument can be said for the buell 1125r......but they only had a chance of racing against bikes half the displacement

dont get me wrong...i'm a fan of all bikes, even harleys




but on the topic of drag racing a stock v-rod vs a stock 954......if the guy gets beat its one of two things

1. he sucks at riding
2. he sucks at riding

 

i could always have major egine failure maybe that could be #3

 

if the bike doesn get him the stang will..lol..

 

just a little update.. the vrod got SMOKED... it was terrible, he stayed with me through the 1st part of first gear, by the time i shifted to second... IT was over.

 

As it should be. I have a V-rod and it is in no way any competition for a CBR. Not even a spirited 600. The V-rod is fast for a Harley ... period. But, if you don't mind being comfortable and have left behind the need for scraping bits of metal and plastic in the twisties then the V-rod is a helluva bike and fun to ride.

 

yeah he is right. one of my boss's has an 06' v-rod and all this summer he talked it up and talked it up and how fast it is and this and that. he talks about how he has 120whp on the thing. well this winter when i got my 96' 900rr he started talking about his bike and stuff. so i kindly reminded him that my bike has 126hp, at the crank. so would equal out to be about the same i think. he wants to race but doesn't brag about his harley anymore ha ha. so dont worry about it. your 954 will rape that thing. ha ha. on the 60 mph roll, take off in a wheelie. he will probably turn off and go to trade that ugly slab of steel in at the honda shop ha ha. ohh and keep your head down over there. HOOAHHHH!!!!
