White stress mark on rear cowl
Greetings! I'm a new member to CBR Forum, but skipped the intro page. I'll go back and post there too, but had a question right off the bat.
Does anyone know how to reduce or eliminate the appearence of a stress mark in plastic? I put an integrated LED taillight in my '03 CBR 600RR, and I must've over tightened the phillips head screw that attaches the assembly to cowl, and now that the weather has gotton colder (Wisconsin), the side of the cowl pulled in a little, and the faintest white ring appeared around the flange where the screw goes in. in order to keep the condition from getting worse, I completely removed the screw, but the ring remains. I will prob. leave that screw out until spring, at any rate. Any experince with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
RE: White stress mark on rear cowl
Nevermind, Iguess I need to upgrade the lighting in my garage. what appeared to be a stress mark was nothing more than a light scratch on the rear cowl. the plastic did suck in a little in the cold weather, wchich went away when I removed the screw, so I think I'll still keep that out until the weather warms up!
