wet wash ?
 

ok i'm sure this i a topic that has been beaten to death but i didn't feel like scrolling through all of the pages to this forum. water and electric parts usually don't mix too well together if i am going to hose my bike off and srub it down w/ a sponge and mitt do i need to stay away from the gauge clust the under seat battery tray / power distribution / fuse center ? and then on drying can i then shami the bike then hit it w/ the blower and then shami it again ?

If you have an air compressor to help with the drying, that would help. Other than that, I've hosed my bike down many times and no problems.

Absolutely ! Nothing can clean a bike better than a good soaking and washing. Dead bugs, road grime, grease, dirt, dust, tree sap, all these things need to be cleaned off. I'm sure when the manufacturers built the bikes, they took into consideration that they were going to get wet. If you've got access to a compressor, great. If not, I wouldn't let that prevent me from giving it the old rubber hose treatment. Just don't put tire dressing on your tires.

Ridden in a frikkin hurricane with no detriment to the bike. I, however, got wetter than being in the shower. 4" of water in my boots when I got home -- hair soaked under the helmet -- rain gear is not waterproof[:@]
