too late to take back....so can i spray a clear-coaton it myself with a rattle can ? or will that run-crinkle-or-other-wise-look-like-crap ?
has anyone out there triedit and if successfulcanyou suggest whattype of paint to use ??

with a rattlecan job it will most likely turn out like crap as it is had to get a nice smooth glossy finish. in addition to that, can paints usually don't do so well being handled all the time, it'll fade, get nicks, etc.
Thats all my personal experience though, i've painted a lot of things before and have never found a rattlecan paint good enough for say, a helmet. I could be wrong though.

Yeah ive seen some clear coat eat through some stuff. Maybe try a small inconspicuous area first? Use a gray 3m scotchbrite pad to scuff it up before you paint and you can get decent clear coat in a can through dupont. I used to use it all the time on door jams and small repairs. If it doesnt eat your helmet it should look nice

Helmets should not be painted without extreme care ..
and IMO they should never be re painted
