Only part I need to get my bike on the road is the tensioner. The bike is an 88 1000. IF anyone can help me with one on the low low this would be awesome.

 

change, was lookin at everything and comparing to pix, tensioner appears to be good but i noticed one of my cam caps is busted also the top guide for the chain when someone was removing it busted off the piece on the head that it bolts too. should this be ok or does it need a new head?

 

You need a new head. The cam caps are specific to the head. They are made as one piece to ensure that the two match up exact. You could just get a new cap and see what happens but it’s a lot of work for a maybe. Not sure where you're located but here in the states you can get a head with the matching caps from ebay for under 250. Just make sure its not the P.A.I.R California head, or is if you need it.
