Wanted: 87-89 CBR1000F Front Wheel Rim
Hey all,
Noticed a small flat spot on my front rim so I need to get a replacement, was wondering if anybody on here have a spare they'd be willing to sell. It'll be in for paint so as long as it's round and true I'm not too picky about condition
There's a couple on ebay, but I'd rather deal with enthusiasts than wreckers whenever possible so figured I'd check with y'all first
I'm located in Canada so pretty likely it'll be international shipping from somewhere, but that's no biggie as far as I'm concerned
Thanks!

I'm looking at a couple complete bikes for parts, do you want that year range because the rim would match or is it design specific. If you could get two matching rims from a newer year would that suit you. I may find something between 87-89 but just wanted to keep you in mind, because I have a line on a 90 and a 93. Nothing I would sell you - Just cover the shipping and I'd be good with that.

I'm in Maine, Bangor area. I haven't even looked at the bikes yet, plan to this weekend - It looks like there is time to figure it out as we are in winter states. I can still ride a little while longer but it appears you're gettin' snow already... I actually look forward to wrench time this winter.
I'll alert you pronto if I am able to snap one of them up. The wheels look good. My main interest is carburetors, a spare motor to dissect and body panels. The rest of it I won't care about so much and I don't want a bunch of carcasses laying around anyway.

We actually avoided the snow for now. Had a few hours in the saddle yesterday and another week of warm temps. No complaints
Let me know if the deal goes through. If so I'd also take the speedo cable and wheel spacers, probably the chainguard as well (those are the other parts needed to make the swap, apparently)
Thanks man, appreciated

I crashed and burned with both bikes I was looking at. It's early yet though, patience is a virtue!
And this one won't get back to me. Maybe someone else could be lucky. I just want the motor lol:

No worries about the bike deals falling through. Let me know if you end up picking up a wreck at some point. No rush
The front tire is a weird size on the 87-88's, so I'd like to make the swap at some point if only to make it easier to buy rubber for. Could be tricky to keep it looking stock. I'm sure I'm the only person on the planet who actually likes those oversize melted-alien-looking front fenders so I'd have to find some way to make those fit too
Hawkwind's right - apparently a few other parts would be needed too. DragonCBR has put up a great little how-to
In the meantime, if anyone else has a spare gathering dust...?
