August 2009 ROTM Voting Thread

This is where all the cool cats come to see the purty bikes we have running for August ROTM crown! But please contain your exuberance and only vote ONCE. Last month we had irregularities and I had to dock some votes that came from the same IP. A contestant will be disqualified should the same IP be used for more than 1 vote.

And remember: this thread is only for contestants to post ... all other posts will be deleted.

So here are your nominees:

Haha NP, I got plenty of "family" up here to get my back. Knee bustin's an OLD family tradition up here ;).

Wait. . .maybe you and I are related????? LOL

And "good run?" You're kicking my ass!!! :icon_hyper::icon_hyper::icon_hyper: Stupid kids and your newfangled future-bikes. . . . . . :)

. . .woah. Are you serisouly trying to insult voters into voting for you? It's only like. . .day 3.:icon_doh:

The way you phrase things, it seems like you didn't do any of that work, you just went and gave somebody a bunch of money for a nice bike, and then demanded that people respect you for it. Hell, look at the nomination thread, you just busted in, begging for nominations. Why don't you give the story of all the time and effort you put into rebuilding it, and you might be able to win some people over. Looking at your mods, that's an IMMENSE amount of labor, if you in fact did do it, and I'm sure a ton of people on the board would love to hear the details. Give it a shot!

That aside, insulting other people's bikes is not going to win you any fans. You are not losing to "a couple of F3's." You are losing to someone else's labor of love. We have sacrified MANY of our weekends to perfecting our bikes. We've stayed up WAY too late during the week, going to our real jobs tired as hell the next day, and then doing it all over again. For some of us, these were weekends we could have been using for actual work and getting paid, but we chose to do this, to create something unique that we can call our own, and know that nobody else out there is going to pull up next to us at a stop light with the exact same one between their legs. Hell, I know QUITE well the amount of time Demented's body mods alone took. Personally, I rescued my bike out of the back of a ****ing tool shed, where it sat for over 3 years with no stabilizer or anything. I had to tear it ALL THE WAY APART, and you just don't take that amount of time out of your life unless you know you're really creating something worth celebrating. The only reason your bike is externally unique is because there were only 1000 of them made in the first place, which has zero to do with any effort on your part, whatsoever. Don't beg to compete, and then half-ass your submission. If you want ROTM, you need to tell the voters WHY what you have done is better than anyone else in this thread.

Ready? Go.

browningbuck 08-19-2009 12:05 PM

Oh wow johny you had me all motivated to start spilling my guts oh how i designed my bike from the scraps she was !!! good motivation you have there. it is true, us Stupid kids and your newfangled future-bikes have to put in just as much work as the old ones, if you want something that is truely unique. hell my bike alone has 5 prototype designs on it that either are now part of my business, or no one else has or will have.

so i will also post up my before (well its kinda after...had more taken off before i started taking pics)

Yeah, just look at the list! Literally futuristic, if you're using prototype mods! You like, literally manufactured half the bike. :D

Does it travel through time, too?:icon_wcam:
