Default Winter Riding

Here in colorado Im trying to ride this new toy every day but today it was 5 deg. F and holy damn it was cold. Do any of you use electric gloves or chem packs. I found electric gloves that run off the battery but there like $300. Any other ideas. Or do you guys just parkem till spring ?

I live in kansas and it gets pretty cold here too. I'll ride if it's over 40 and when I do I just suck it up. Icon gloves and jacket, pair of long john's two pair of socks, helment and a face mask from gander mountain. usually keeps me warm enough.

I live in Milwaukee and was riding no matter how cold it was getting until they put salt on the ground. I think the coldest it got before they put salt on the ground was 10-15 F. I hope for your bikes sake you arent riding in conditions where they have salted the road, it could put a nice looking bike in a haggered state in no time.

The electric stuff can kill your electrical system. Our bikes don't put out much more than 300W and the lights take up a bunch of that. Of course if it's 5F you might want to take that risk I live in GA where it doesn't stay cold too long -- ridden in 15F several times with no electric crap and it was fine. Just bundled up. The thing that freaks me most is ice. You come up on it before you know and the *** end goes all over. Not fun.

03954guy, grow a sack. I wish it would stay above 70 here. I rock no handers in 5 degree weather. put your big girl panties on and chock it up.

Here in Milwaukee you see Harley riders out in icey conditions bundled to the hilt. Dont know whether they are regular Harley guys or Harley Davidson In c employees testing out Harleys in these conditions. I saw a Harley guy with a side car on yesterday and it was ikn the single digits, big rock salt littered on every road. I just dont understand it, it wasnt like a Sportster either everyone of them Ive seen in these conditions has been the $20K+ full dresser Harleys. I would never do my 954 that way!

i like my bike so i don't rock anything on it except for 4 back tires a year and corners and as for the panties thing get it right they are t-backs thats why i don't like cold riding because my *** cheeks start flapping and when its cold i don't like it
