wavy disk noise?
 

so my new bike as wavy disk and there is a noise that sound like its the pads going over the waves of the disks.

is this normal?

If you're bedding new pads in on new rotors, there will be noise- and it does sort of sound like that. How many miles do you have on the new set up?

I can't be sure because I can't hear it. But as the pads bed in some more, it should go away or lessen substantially. If you have HH pads, there will always be some noise. Organic pads will completely go away.

And like I said, it sort of sounds like that. You shouldn't feel anything though - you don't right? You shouldn't feel anything in the lever, you shouldn't feel anything in the front end from the brakes. It should be a fairly quiet noise, that's all.

i have only just brought the bike.

next time i go out i will check the pads and try and pin point the type of sounds.

Well, like I said, HH pads are always going to make some of that noise. And it's not a constant noise, it's a noise that sounds like... when you're on a bicycle and you stop pedaling as you're still rolling - the noise the chain makes.

It's like a winding-electrical buzzing - it goes quieter and slows down as YOU slow down.


Really hard to describe. But it's normal. If you're not comfortable with em, take them in and have them looked over. There's not much I can do from a computer screen. If I could ride it and hear it - I could tell you for sure, but I can't

I'd equate it to sounding like a swishing noise when you hit the brakes with wave rotors
