Two Brothers and others pipe installation
I just got a Two Brothers bolt on pipe for my 2003 954. The instructions show that after removing the stock pipe, there is a cone shaped piece that must be cut off the bike before the Two Brothers pipe can be installed. Has anyone done this? What does the cone do? Will cutting it affect performance? I have a friend with a 2003 954 and a Yosh pipe and he did not have to cut it off to install that pipe. What other aftermarket pipes require the cone to be cut? Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: Two Brothers and others pipe installation
Hey Curt, i have a two brothers and i did cut off the cone. Didn't hurt a thing! In my mind it would seem that it would allow better exhaust flow due to the fact there is no restriction. Better flow.....better performance! :)

RE: Two Brothers and others pipe installation
it is a anti-flame come. ever seen a non fuel injected bike shut there bike off and load it up with fuel and start it back up and it shoots a big a$$ flame. the cone will prevent that from happening, but it is very hard to get a fuel injected bike to load up enough fuel to shoot a flame. I've heard some bolt on pipes don't have enough clearance inside the pipe for the cone, thats why they say to cut it off
