RE: TURBO PROJECT ON MY 54

cbrclassic thanx for getting the pic in this post, i tried to figure it out but failed.my concerns on making it were 1. bolt down on TB's 2. not getting pushed down and move when i bolt down the tank.

where did you get the turbo mani? also how is the flow on the home made air box?

apcycles 01-28-2009 12:03 AM

im making a manifold, and i am thinking about using a 2.25" charge pipe which should give me a decent air flow.. will post the pic in couple of days once i make that manifold.

im confused by the mani... no equal lenght or mini ramhorn? also what steel are you using?

apcycles 02-03-2009 10:38 PM

i think length will not gona matter since its going to be welded into a single flange which will bolt rite on to the turbo. i am using a 1.50" exhaust tubing i think it is a 12 guage. which can be bought from exhaust repair shop, lucky me my buddy had it in his shop which i just took. i am not a professional turbo guy i am designing this for the first timein my life tried askin JHSWAIN some question but no reply. so any advise to make it better will be appreciated.

well i made a thread for turbo questions. i would most certainly make it equal length, you will get a better for even flow into the turbine thus making boost ALOT faster at lower RPMS. You also might run into problems with that metal. Most fabricators used sch10 steal for turbo manifold to reduce the risk of cracks because the shear weight of the turbo, wastegate, and downpipe. any questions just post in the thread i made and i will help out to the best my knowledge.
