My 954 shows "--" on the temp gauge at all times. I have checked the wireing and it is hooked up. Does this indicate a faulty temp sensor or is it possible the gauge cluster is to blame? Though I thought it would be a temp sensor issue, this gauge cluster has been on two differentbikes and on both of them it read "--". Why has it been on two bikes? my friend and I are swapping/combining 954s. Both bikes had issues so we are swapping all the good parts on one bike and selling off whats good on the other. Unfortunately by the time I got the bike back up and running,my friendhad already sold the other gauge cluster (which showed a temperature), or we would have used that to test if thegauge cluster was the culprit. Other than showing "--" for temperature, the gauge cluster seems to work fine for everything else.

Anyone experience the same thing?

hm haven't heard of such but i would think the ECT/thermo sensor is faulty.. try to test gauge on other bike or call dealership and see waht they say over the phone

Yeah I'll see if I can get an answer out of the dealership without getting "well bring it in and we will take a look at it ($$$) answer"

 

try to talk to someone that might know you there.. i know one service guy and a bunch of salesman and customer service guys at my local dealership.. call and see if you can get a answer bucause they do not need to see the bike if you are telling them a problem like that, but if you can't get a answer iw ill call/go into my dealership and get a answer for you
