Default stolen bike may be found!

ok so i bought a brand new 954 in 03 and had it for about six months . well i did a stupid thing and left it parked at the mall overnight since i was going to a party with some friends and i was raining and cold. got back, it was gone. so the other day i see a 954 parked at my college apartments same color same broken turn signal, same missing mirrors, no license plate.... this may be my bike. im gonna drive an hour home and get my key from my parents house and see if it starts....my question is, if this is my bike is it possible that they got another key for it somehow from honda?? also if not then is it possible that they just got a new ignition with another key? what should i do about this. ~eagle

If it happens to be your bike, with newer bikes anyway, you have to have a code to get extra keys made. I am not sure about those though

it's on a very noticeable white sticker on the left side of the bike just under the gas tank... it'll say the year of the bike in great big letters too that should help you find it... and next time use your headlights when you don't have a flashlight...

Why hasn't anyone suggested CALLING THE COPS. If your bike was stolen, there should be a police report on it already, which will include the vin. Have an officer come check the bike, and see if its yours. Why risk having the cops called on you because the owner of a motorcycle caught you with a flash light trying to look at the internals in the middle of the night. Or worse yet, why risk having a guy with a gun approach you accusing you of trying to steal his new bike that he just bought on the corner the day before? Call the cops, don't risk it. Let them handle it, its their job. Either way, good luck.
