Trying to decide if I should cut it in half. I'll be using a dremel or maybe even a hack saw, not sure how well a hacksaw will work on carbon fiber. I was going to cut it right behind the emblem.

 

i think the shorter cans look great. i cut mine down, and it looks great, it's louder at idle, but NOT (<--edit*) too much louder at WOT. i don't know about cutting carbon fiber though. i wouldn't use a dremel, i used a band saw at my father in law's shop. re-riveting it is easy enough as well.

 

i used a dremel when i did my carbon fiber devil.... cuts it like butter... make sure to tape it good first

yea with mine i used a hacksaw the the line ended up being really crooked... so i went through and cut it again with a dremel.... MUCH EASIER....

also suggest getting some sanding bits (for your dremmel) to clean up and rough patches works great.... good luck man

I dunno, I can see cutting a low mount pipe - that looks pretty good. But a high mount? I think it looks a bit funny with a shorty high mount but that my opinion.

 

+1 --- way toooo far. it looked big in 2002 comparatively, let alone nowadays with all of the newer bikes, it looks almost exagerated. its a sweet little cheap and easy mod to do. not that it'll make as much of a difference in weight to you (because your exhaust is already a lot lighter than stock), but when i cut the stocker, im sure i lost 5 lbs - maybe more, i can't remember for sure, but i was astonished at how much lighter the cut and gutted can was.

 

I just dont know....Its a great pipe! You wont gain any noticeable power gains. Its just for looks.....right? How about this first. The back end of the Fiddy-4 wont look so bulky if you get a fender eliminator! It will get rid of that gimongous mudflap! Find one that has integrated turn signals as well. It will remove the factory saddle bags we use as blinkers too. After that. Take a look at the profile of the bike. It might not be so annoying.....If your still looking to cut something up. I have a couple large fir trees down in the back 40 I can cut you loose on!
