question is, are they all the same but with different mounts per bike?

meaning, if i bought whichever one was cheapest on ebay, i could still get a mount and make it work for my bike, right?

yeah they are all the same(damper only)... you just have to get the mounting kit or whatever... they come up from time to time on ebay
