The D3 looks nice and I suppose nobody should skimp on the one part of the bike he has his hands on most of the time. However, I like to keep my hands against the collar and I'm concerned that I will be resting on aluminum. It's odd that Driven would design grips like this.

It seems to me that the grips for the 954rr are longer than the average grips. How is the length on these aftermarket grips? Have any of you had trouble finding grips that actually fit?

As far as the aluminum part of the grip, that's where your thumb and fore-finger rest. The rest of your fingers and most importantly nerve plexus (in the palm of your hand), all rest on the rubber gel grip area.

Odd as it sounds (see above posts), comfy, buzz-free, firm grip.

Not saying you can't spend less and get good comfort.

I am saying that (for me), it's worth the premium for the boffo lines and clean looks.

Really appreciate the input. I went with Pro Grips. Price wasn't really the issue.

I just put kuryakyn black iso grips on with there bar end weights. They are alot bigger around and comfortable than the stock grips. They don't look too bad either.

Currently I have the Driven Superbike SBK's on my bike. They are a dual compound that is grippy, comfortably, and are only about $12.00. They fit nice and tight and are great length. I did try the Driven D-3's bc I love the look of them but I ran into a problem. I use my thumb and index finger to twist the throttle. Once installed, I rode the bike and almost wrecked bc the aluminum collar is where my thumb and index finger lay. I would twist the throttle, but the throttle would twist itself back to idle bc of the way I grip the throttle tube. The collars are not made to the rubber grip and turn quite easily. I rode less than 3 miles before taking them back and getting the SBK's. Quite a few of the guys I ride with have the D-3's and have the same problem, only a handful have no problems with them. Other than that they looked great and were actually quite comfortable.
