And being able to run auto-tune is a great feature

So for a owner who does not have a power commander this would be the best option for me. I have heard there were a lot of issues with the PC3 and our bikes. I also like the auto tune option and that it dials in the bike and settings for you without having to go to a dyno tuner. A little pricey at $660 for both though.

Considering how much trouble it is to fine tune a 954. The PC V with autotune would be worth every penny to me. With my current setup and custom tune if I make any changes I have to go back to the tuner and have him make changes to my fuel maps which equals more money. With the autotune you could make any changes you like and bike will adjust itself for the current conditions.

If this had been released last year I would have sold my PC3 and upgraded to the PC V. The PC V had many features I needed last year and was forced to add the multi-function hub to the PC 3 to get features that are built into the PC V. Now its not worth the cost to upgrade. It does not make any sense to me as to why Dynojet decided to release it now when these bikes 11-12 years old. They should have released this several years ago for the 954.

How much power will I be down running a custom underbelly exhaust without the htev, flapper, and pair and no PC3 OR PCV? Will the bike have a lot of backfire and popping, or rough running and idle issues? I will not be able to shell out the cash for the PCV and Autotune at the moment since I am practically rebuilding the whole bike. It will be a few months before I can get the PCV and Autotune.

Do you have stock headers? That depends on how good your custom exhaust is. MIG made an 1/2 undertail exhaust that made less power then stock. But if it's good you can gain few hp compared to stock exhaust if you have stock headers. Full exhausts gains are about 5-10hp on the 954 depending on who has made it.
You should be fine. I had modified airbox whitout flapper and bmc race filter, Devils pipe that starts from the htv and it worked fine whitout PC3.

Depends on how good does the autotune work. On some bikes they don't work so good. Does it have the rev-extend feature like pc3usb whit the ignition module?

Stock headers, custom 4-1 collector, and danmoto CBR1000RR muffler right off of the 4-1.

is it worth getting one of these for my 954? mine seems to be lumpy down low.

can i get more low down power with one of these?

Adding a PC3 or PC5 will not gain you much power. Either one allows the bike to be custom tuned to smooth out the fuel curve to make the bike run better. My 954 always ran good but I could not believe the difference after it was custom tuned. The downloadable maps are ok but nothing beats a custom tune. If I were buying new I would get the new PC5 because it has more features than the older PC3 USB.
