Poss nightmare, 954 using/leaking oil
Well the friggin thing had just dropped approx 500ml over 3mths!!
It's used generally just for 17miles a day x2 for commuting, and I kinda blow the ***** off it all the time (once fully warmed up, of course).
Short journey consumption or bigger problem somewhere?
A lot of black gunge around the sump area and wire going to the stand sensor, but that could be chain fling.
Bike is secured by a chain to a concrete column and started to warm up there, the area around the exhaust spout has turned the concrete black (running rich?), but that just could be condensation and carbon emission? It's always just exhaust condensation blowing out, water.
it's pretty cold here in Ireland now, if that's a possible cause for oil use on colder than usual start up?
OR, do I have a major problem somewhere???? If so what would the shop guy angle towards, ring seals etc. Big money if so?
cheers.

start small.
get a couple cans of degreaser, and clean the whole engine / bike. get ALL the crap off the bike. Each time you ride it, do a visual inspection to see if you can see any oil seeping out anywhere. could be something simple like a paper gasket giving way.
see if anyone can lend you a compression tester and see what you are getting across all the cylinders as well.

Is the pan gasket a simple job, or will a series of gaskets be needed between other components and it? Cheers.

Friggin airbox servo code just started also, bad week! Think I'll do the mod and delete the piece of crap! Bike stills rides fine despite the fault

I'll give her a good cleaning around the oil sump this weekend and hopefully it's just a slight weep there. Don't need any big bills atm, getting married in 10wks!
And.......ditch that bloody servo, can hear it eating the plastic gears now. I have a PC111, a just fitted a16 stainless stubby, BMC filter. Will any full system map be likely to work so as it doesn't run like a **** bag, if i leave the HTEV open?
Do I ned blanking plates of any description, or just remove the flapper and cables?
It also has a 15/45 sprocket set up, which should disguise any mid range loses, I think?
