Polished swingarm VS. Black swingarm, What do you all think?
Coming from somebody wit polish and chrome i wish all the time i would have left the frame black....powdercoated the swingarm black and powdercoated the wheels gloss purple. But to late and no going back. Your personal prefence, dont need anybodys opinion do what you wanna do.
skarocka, you are right, same fairings and i was thinking about doing everything black like yours. Might have to, would be a lot less work than polishing.
pimpn, the reason im asking for opinions is because i like both looks so well i cant decide. I really like your bike, it looks great and i could do all the work myself, and i really like the all black and can have it all powdercoated for just the cost of materials, I'm havin some trouble choosing here. The 54 just looks great no matter what, so at least i know i wont be dissapointed either way. Your opinion really helps though, hearing it from you that you wish you would have gone with the black makes me think that it might be the better choice, plus all that chrome and polished alum must be a pain to keep clean.

It can be, To get a good shine i have to completely remove all the fairings. My reason for doing black with color match wheels/rearsets etc. would have came down to the fact that chrome is real real big and everybody has it. I like both I cant wait to see what you chose and the finished product.
I have been holding my vote for a few days now as i wasnt completely sure. Having thought about your scheme i still like black, and as stated its much easier to clean
I like the black also.... Everyone does polished. oooo you could do half and half if you cant decide... lol jk but seriously my vote is black, but i would also do the fork tubes.
Black-6 polished-2
Thanks for the input TK. I am starting to lean toward the black too now after considering the work to polish it and to keep it clean, the availability of professional paint with only cost of materials, and time, i take classes full time all year and have a dirt bike to keep up and ride...along with several girlfriends haha, ok just one girl friend, a 4x4 truck. all that crap takes up a lot of time. buttttttttt the polished is quite sexy too.
Maybe another thing to point out is that next winter i will be getting a custom paint job for the 54. I personally love pearl white with some sort of graphics and the black frame/subframe/swingarm would off set that very well. but polished with a dark metallic color would be sweet too. This is the first time i have had money and the ability to do what i want with what i have and i see so much stuff that looks great that i cant really decide.
still open to all ideas and suggestions! Thanks everyone!

I would have to say that if your still considering the polished look, just send it to get chromed. Its one thing to do the frame, or even wheels, but to try and get chain grease, brake dust, out of the nooks and crannies is gonna be a bitch.
roger that TK. If i do so, i will be doing the frame, subframe, rims and other random things also over the winter. but so far i think black is going to be the winner, unless someone comes up with a very persuasive argument. Like this photo.....
