Oil Type/Oil Filter
Hey,
Does anyone know what type of full synthetic oil to run in my 954, I was just going to buy some type of Honda full synthetic oil 10w30? and what type of oil filter and what brand to use? Thanks
I just had some Dunlop Sportmax Q2's put on and it rides so much better now. I ended up paying 400 dollars for both tires mounted and balanced and removed my old tires off the wheels.
Do you guys do your own oil change?

ALWAYS change your own oil. there's no need for you to pay labor on something so simple. besides, it's a good way for you to know what's going on with your own bike.
anyways.
as far as filter, i use a purolator - i just like them. you can get them at any autoparts store - and just make sure that when they look up your bike (because they won't have 954 in their computers), you say it's a 2004 1000rr. the bikes use the same filter
as far as oil, i usually just get valvoline 10w40 synthetic from the autoparts store while i'm out there getting the filter. if i'm low on funds, i have no problem using conventional though (since it's less than half the price of synthetic) i used repsol one time - and it was the synthetic, i didn't notice any real difference as far as running cooler or transmission shifting, so i don't think i'll ever shell out the cash for that again.
just change your oil every couple of thousand miles (for conventional 2000 mi and for synthetic 3000-4000 mi IMO) and change the filter with it and make sure you have the right amount in there.
