Noisey Clutch

I am having an annoying issue with what seems to be something dragging or surging and or grinding while riding. I have pulled the wheels, checked the bearings and regreased them and the chain is in good shape and properly adjusted. I began to notice it when my clutch began making noise with the lever released. The bike has 18k miles and completely stock. If someone has an idea where to begin, that would be great. Thanks for a great forum

Im assuming when you release the lever you are in neutral? Our bikes have noisy clutch baskets. Are you slipping or noticing anything abnormal? If not then a noisy basket is completely normal in our bikes. Like i said if youre in neutral and release it, the sound comes but pull and it goes its normal.

+1 about the 954, and many other bikes that actually get used, having clutch basket noise. But I'm wondering about the OP's first line. "seems to be something dragging or surging and or grinding while riding." That sound's effed up.

I should have updated earlier, the chain was the issue with what seemed like surging. The engine tick is something I suppose I will have to get used to, maybe if I upgrade to a new exhaust that is a little louder I won't be bothered by the tick. I have 19k on the bike and may replace the clutch just because. Thanks

Sounds like a good enough excuse to get a nice new exhaust to me :D ... lol ... I don't think 19k miles is near enough to wear out a clutch unless you do alot of drag racing or absolutely suck at driving anything with a manual clutch ..... if you are really worried about the condition of the clutch there's a thread ( https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-mecha...plained-35380/ ) right here that explains how to inspect them to see if they're out of spec ... Wouldn't want ya to throw away good money on a perfectly fine clutch kit man :\ ... put that towards the exhaust !! =]
