RE: new coolant

I will write a short how-to process because my pics did not work becuase they were not in the proper format

Prep:
The effectiveness of coolant decreases with the accumulation of rust or if there is a change in the mixing proportion during usage. The best performance change the coolant regulary as spcified in the maintenacnce schedule. Mix only distilled, low mineral water with the antifreeze.

Antifreeze - Pro Honda HP Coolant or an equivalent high quality ethylene glycol antifreeze contraining corrosiion protection inhibitors

Mixture - 1:1 Antifreeze/Distilled water

Pocedure

1: Remove Radiator cap ( right ride under air damn cover_

2. Remove the lower cowl, then remove the drain bolt on the water pump cover and drain the sytstem coolant
3. remove the cylinder drain bolt and drain the coolent from teh cylinder
4 Reinstall the drain bolt with a new sealing washer
5 disconnect the siphon house from teh radiator, drain the reserve tank coolant, empty the coolant and rinse the inside of the reserve tank with water, reinstall the radiator siphon hose
6 Fill the system with the recommended coolant throughthe filler opening up to the filler neck

Bleed air
Remove the radiator reserve tank cap and fill the reserve tank to the upper level line

put the bike in neutral and start the engine and let idle for 2-3 minutes, then snap the throttle three or four times to bleed air from the system, stop the engine and add coolant up to the proper level if need be, reinstall the radiator cap and then check the level of coolant in the reserve tank and fill to the upper level if it is low.

So I did all this just now, but i wasn't sure I could get secure the radiator syphon hose back to the reserve tank, since it's just that tiny little clamp and its semi hard to get to....so now my reserve tank is just filled with water that I wanted to flush it with...Any suggestions?

RE: new coolant

i guess i dont totally understand your question.. but just do it the proper way and you wont have any problems... it's not that hard to get at and work with that clamp.. needle nose pliers
