new to 954 with a coolant question

Hey all!

I have spent many many days gleaming information from this forum (have read all the pages) I recommend one about the top speed of the 954 at about page 19 or 20. ITS PRICELESS!
anyhow I just bought an '02 954 with high miles but this thing was babied. I am soooo excited to ride, but of course its winter and all I can do right now is dream... in the mean time I plan on changing all the fluids and plugs and filters (tires chains and sprockets are new) but my question is the coolant. I wanna put engine ice in, but the stuff is dear and don't wanna buy waaay more than I need. what's the coolant capacity in the beast? also do you need to drill the plastics for frame sliders or should they just bolt on?

thanks for any help!

frame sliders will just bolt in. If you take the link below, download the manual and it will give you the fluid capacity. however your going to need more to do it properly. I would flush the system three times with water and then two flush coolant and fill back up with coolant and leave. run the bike for a few min inbetween each filling too to mix it well. If you just drain it and fill it back up, the new coolant will be highly diluted with old coolant.

download from TKs link.

I had to scroll down to one of the lower posts and click on the link posted in it. The file downloads as a "ZIP". Once downloaded it un-zips and opens.

I want to print it, but I don't have enough printer paper to do it right now, takes about 495 pages according to what my printer program says.

Hope this helps.

Jake
