Looking at buying a 954rr need advice
Ok so I am a newb to the Honda world (with the exception of fiddy's) and I am looking at buying a 954rr. I have owned my 2001 r6 for almost 6 years now and I want to get something that can hang with or beat my roomates 05 gsxr750 and I also wanted to get something that is fuel injected. I have always loved the 954's even when I was looking at my r6 they were just out of my price range at the time.
So my question is: is there any common issues with the 954's that I should watch out for? For example my year r6 that I have now has a rectifier/regulator issue that is common on them as well as a second gear pop out issue.
Any other info that will help me out will be greatly appreciated
thanks cbr forums in advance for the help !!!

A CBR 954 will definitely out run the GXSR 750 in a drag race. If you like riding the twisities then your R6 should keep up since rider skill and not the bike determines how fast you go. Moving up to the 954 will not make you any faster on curvy roads and will require more precise throttle control compared to your R6. Have you setup the suspension on your R6 to improve the handling which will make you faster on the twisties.
Honda's rarely have any major problems. If you look around on this forum you will see lots of questions about different problems. I would not pay much attention to them because most poeple with problems have highly modified 954's. If you plan to buy a 954 then I would recommend finding one as close to stock as possible. You never know who made the mods to the bike or the quality of their work.
My buddy's 2000 CBR 929 has over 22k miles with the factory spark plugs and still runs like new. When you start messing with them too much you can expect to have some problems.
