hello, i just found this site a few days ago and just wanted to say hello to the other 954rr guys. i have a red and black '03 with just under 12k miles on it. full micron exhaust, a k&n and HID headlights. i was just wondering if anyone has heard of a powercommander crapping out. it was working fine, with a custom tune and it felt down on power and the exhaust was smelling a little rich. i went ahead and disconected the PM and ran around a little bit and it helped, but it was still a little low on power so i changed the plugs now the bike feels better than it did with the PM on it. also the two plugs on the right side were slightly fouled. anyone else have a similar problem with their PM?powercommander IIIr, by the way. thanks for any response and keep the rubber side down.

 

hello and welcome... as far as your PC goes I've heard of them going out from time to time but that's usually due to some electrical failure since it's sort of exposed to the elements. not sure what to tell you as far as repair goes I'd probly wait and see what other people say from experience

 

hard to say without personally checking out the bike did u check out all connections

 

yup all the connections were good, no corrosion or anything to inhibit the flow of current, no nicks in the wire either. the power commander crapping out is all that i can come up with because once i took it off the bike and went back to the stock mapping and all that, the bike ran better than it did with the PM. and yes i did try two different maps from PM's website.
