Is it just me or do the stock bar weights break easily (the inner ones)? I bought the bike, one was broken (because it had fallen over probably), well the other one broke as well, I think I tightened it down too much and pulled it apart.

I am making some out of solid bar stock, and was about done w/ the 2nd one tonight and broke the tap off in it, so I guess I will be making a third one or cutting the end off the one I've got and making it a little shorter. @ $55 for 2 (local Honda shop) they are pretty pricey for some pot metal.

Any negatives you can see about making them from steel bar stock? Also, if anyone wants some I'll make you some $60/ pair
