GUSSETED HONDA CBR 954 swingarm mount

Hi to everyone, some days ago, i was talking with Mika on Facebook on this part, the seller said that it was used on the CBR 954 NO LIMIT MOTORSPORTS,and that NO MORE FLEX.. someone else told me that is crazy to do something like that to this part of the bike..now the question is; it really works? i mean if one team build or modify one part i guess he is sure on what he is doing right? ( WORK WAS DONE BY FACTORY HONDA RACE TEAM) this is what the seller said..

Interesting....

Does it work? Who knows. Looks like it would be stronger than stock and probably would stiffen things up a bit.

Is it necessary? Nope. unless you are on a superbike that has the HP and are a rider that is so good that you notice the "flex" and it affects your riding.

But if you have $150 to spend and want to give it a try, go for it.

It's a one of a kind piece..... and it's ugly.

Seems like a waste to me.

Punch the bushings out of the rear of the engine (where the pivot shaft goes). That bushing sits pressed into 1/4 in. (5mm) thick piece of cast aluminum that is not even solid (case splits around it).

That seems to be where the flex comes from. When those teams made those braces between the motor mount and the frame - they eliminated the need for the pivot shaft to go through the engine. And they were using inch thick pieces of billet to do it....

And if you make the motor mount that much more stiff, are you potentially stressing something else?

But, unless you're road racing, I don't think it'd be noticeable one way or the other...
