So I wanna get my first 94, since some girl cut me off and wrecked my F2. I have my eye on a mint 2002 with 8000 miles on it. The seller wants $6500. Should I get it? or should I find a better deal?

my 02 had 6k miles and I paid 6k ... it was perfect with new rubber and a fresh oil change when I bought it .... so see if you can knock it down a few hundred bucks

My 02-954 is up for 6100 with some aftermarkets.... in Wisconsin of course....

april 06 i purchased an 03 with 3200 miles. paid $7,500. don't know if that helps any.

6500 is too high!!-would be about right with lower miles(1500-2500)-check ebay for price trends
should tell you what the current 54 market is doing!!
maybe you can get the seller to come down a bit!

I know that exhaust is pricey as hell and frame sliders cost all of 20 bucks but ... it's a used bike so any aftermarket parts are worthless unless they drastically change the bikes value. Exhaust definitely is not one of those things. Most people who invests 10s of thousands of dollars usually end up selling at a huge loss (this same logic works on a smaller scale keep in mind). In other words, try to talk em down. They'll probably give it to you for 6 or less. Bluebook is $6470 so you've got room to bargain.

Here's a trick to buying by the way:

I learned this from my Wharton educated business professor in college:

When striking a bargain, ALWAYS before you make a deal... cross your arms and let the person talk about the deal until they run out of things to say. Most of the time people will get nervous and drop the price without you even asking them too. If they give you a price and the conversation doesn't lull before you make up your mind, look them straight in the eye as confidently as you can and simply ask him/her: "I just have one last question, is that the best you can do before I make my decision?" THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: AFTER YOU ASK THE QUESTION YOU CAN'T SAY ANOTHER WORD UNTIL YOU REACH AN AWKWARD SILENCE UNTIL YOU JUST CAN'T BARE IT ANY MORE. The longer you go the better most of the time because the seller will just do anything to regain the sale. If you start to babble or chit chat the seller regains control, and you are no longer intimidating. The worse that will happen is they will say "yes". I'm in sales and I can tell you first hand that you can always get a sale if the buyer doesn't gain control. CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL. It's always the key. I saved $4,000 on my 2004 Accord just because the salesman had no idea I didn't know what I was doing. All I did was sit at his desk, stare him in the eye and ask him that question. There is no right answer, which puts the questioned in a very difficult place. See if it works.

I just got an awesome deal on mine. 02, 15k miles, tons of aftermarket stuff, brand new rubber and tune. The local performance shop knew the bike was mantained and did the tune. All for the bargain basement price of 5300! I'm in love. Fantastic bike. You'll love yours!
