gauges not working

I recently purchaced a 954 that was in waiting for a paint job, all tore apart. When I got it home I had to put it all back together an go for a ride but one problem, the guages are not working. The backround lights and the indicator lights on the top work (neutral, turn, high beams), but the tach and the digital display are motionless. The bike runs like a champ but it really sucks when you have no idea how fast or what RPM's are being reached. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it is a common thing. The guages did spend some time in a box with other parts for awhile, are they that sensative to being damaged? I have checked all the connections and them seem to be good, what is the deal here? I would really appreciate any help, and if anyone know where a guy could get gauges please let me know.

yup same problem, bought a new gauge clustor and it worked perfect. Mine did the same with the back lights, neutral light, turn signals, and high beam but no tach and no speed. They are very sensitive, if it hit the ground to hard or if static from your body was discharged into(like when touching a door knob and getting a shock) that can actually fry the thing, its nothing but a little circuit board on the inside and there are a million things that can go wrong with them.

You might be able to find someone that can fix it but i dont know, Let me know if you do cuz i have a bad one still sitting here. check this web site, they might know how to test them or something.

Thanks for the reply! Where did you find the other gauges? I think the website would be the way to go but so far no reply on how to get them sent there. I would appreciate any other input from anyone else or if someone has a working set for a decent price.
