Fuel pump replacement question

It looks like I'm replacing a fuel pump this week. The original was sounding slower and slower. Finally this morning it's stopped working. No prime. Bike won't start. I do show 12v at the pump connector on the loom side for a few seconds after the key is turned on, indicating that the relay and all is functioning properly.

Here's the question: I have a new pump on order, but can't find an online source for a replacement baseplate gasket (the one that mates the entire pump assembly to the tank).

Can I get away with reusing the present gasket…if I can get it off cleanly?

Does anyone have a good on-line source for that part. Ebay and Google searches haven't turned up anything so far.

FUEL PUMP 1

Are you talking about #13

Yup…and I did find that part through sportmoto.com.

What I ordered was specific to CRR954RR. The drawing shows it as an oval….while the real part is circular. We'll see how this one works out.

Seems you got the part sorted. But yea, those gaskets are impregnated so they are considered by honda to be one use only. I have heard people had luck with reusing but more often than not it leaks. Make sure you do not ding the oblong surface where the plate and gasket mate the tank. Very very fragile area. Im telling ya if you ding it up it will give you grief.

I got my gasket from hondapartshouse.

Cool. Thanks!

It's not a huge project. Planning on taking my time and doing it carefully. (and doing it once)
