flapper question

I have looked thru all the posts i can find but dont see what i need. I cut out the flapper on my bike some time ago but as i was reading all the posts say to plug the vacuum hose. I dont seem to have one, my flapper is run from a cable, the only hoses i have are one on the left side going to the valve cover, and one on the right going to a sensor mounted to the airbox. When done i just cut out theflapper portion and leftthe throttle control portion alone sothat it could still work freely. So can i safely assume i am good and i have nothing to plug that would have been affecting how my bike is running. For what its worth its a 02 954.

RE: flapper question

When I removed the one off my 03 954 I left the hole where the cable came in open. No other hole on mine either. Did you have a custom map done for your bike with the flapper removed? If so would you minds sharing it with me at jjv291@cox.net

I cant prove that it did anything, but it seems a lot less boggy at takeoff, other then that maybe a tad louder but no real difference otherwise.
