Engine temp goes up to 125!!

Hello All,

Over the last couple of days the temp goes up to 125 !! and the red warning light comes on, the fan starts at approx 100 and continues to run until the temp drops (When out of town)

This happens when travelling through town / traffic

Before the last few couple of days it never got this high

I have not changed my riding style, and have been riding the same route for a couple of years and never had this problem before.

When out of town the temp goes back down to 82, in town is used to go up to the high 90's I have never seen it go this high before.

I have checked there is nothing blocking the radiator

Thanks for you help in advance

You need to check the radiator. Is it full?

Checo the radiator cap, it has a valve which sucks coolant from the reservoir back into the radiator, check the level of the radiator when cold and let your bike get hot( it will overflow into the reservoir but it has to be sucked back when the water/coolant temp goes down again ).

Wait, 125 is not good?? The max mine reaches is 228 on really hot days or in stop and go traffic. Are we talking Celcius or Farenheit over here?

He must be using the Celsius mode.....

Conrice 06-18-2014 08:14 PM

125 C = 257 F

100 C = 212F

So, we're talking celsius

That's a little more model specific. I'd look in the F4i section, but IIRC, they do tend to run a little warmer than the 954/929
