Engine questions

A buddy blew his 929 motor recently(threw a rod), I threw the idea of maybe dropping a 954 motor in there since he is fixing to buy another motor. Anyone know if the 54 motor will bolt up with stock wiring harness from 29 without any issues? I have alot of experience on a 54 but not the 29 even though there damn near the same bike. Thanks.

Im pretty sure you will have to swap in the 54 harness also.

Not really sure if the harnesses will work? But a buddy of mine is using a speed sensor from a 954 in a 929 and he said the pigtail fromthe 954 was shorter. You might be able to move the harness around and get it to work. the motors are the same. Don't know if the 929 computer will run the 954 the same? Or if the tuning with the PC would help it.
