EGCV Servo Help!!!!
Just wanted to know if there's any way to fix the servo motor w/o purchasing a brand new one i just bought the bike and its throwing a 35 code (3 times slow 5 times fast) someone told me i can get a power commander and take that out just wanted to know what my option's are before i go and spend money. One bike shop told me it could be a soft code because the battery had died so he think's it just need's to be reset so if anyone has any idea's id really appreciate it.....
It may be malfunctioning intermittently or if your battery is dead and it is unable to go threw it's cycle yeah that can cause issues. Make sure you get a good battery, or if what you have is still good get it up to full charge. Make sure that isn't the cause. Hell just having it on the charger and checking it will make sure that it isn't the battery causing the code. But no you are not able to rebuild it. Even though it is a simple electric motor with plastic gears and a position sensor no parts are offered separately so you can't rebuild it, and there is nothing to diagnose the individual components. I would try something like Ebay to see if someone is selling one cheap. But that valve just helps widen power band and i will not hurt anything having it not functioning. Infact you can disconnect the cables and it will just leave the valve fully open if you are worried about it being stuck in the closed position. Then when you decide to replace or get a PC to bypass that code then you can reconnect or remove components.
doesnt the flapper get stuck closed when the servo is not working? if you disconnect the cables then you need to remove the flapper or it will not get the proper air intake after 3000 rpm.
