Default crazy intermittent ign cutout 2002 954

at rpms below 4,500 my bike randomly cuts out for a split seccond. Bike has 17,000 miles I've double checked the timing and valves, the emission valves have all been removed and the dash stays lit so i'm ruling out mechanical and leaning towards a sensor failing and causing the ignition to cut out. It doesn't feel like a fueling issue. There are no trouble codes and the problem is too random to where I can't see any funny sensor signals when the bike is idling. The tach drops about 1,000 rpms when this happens in a blink. Does anyone know of any issues with this bike? All I can think to do now is wait till this gets worse so I can track the problem down but this is my wife's bike and I don't want her stranded.

The battery is all good. I'm more or less hoping someone had their cps or tps do this stuping thing right before it went out. Or a knock sensor or o2 sensor that did this same thing on their bike. I think I'm stuck till it gets worse.

Me too! I thought it was loose ground but I think it might have somthing to do with a cam chain tension related problem

sounds to me like either a bad spark plug, ignition coil, or mabey a loose/shorted wire, mabey check the kick stand sensor, or the bank angle sensor, my 929 also experienced problems like this, usually under part throttle at lower rpms and a fresh set of spark plugs took care of it but ive also seen sticking exhaust power valves cause power loss in the lower rpms but from what your describing it dosent sound like that because you say it only lasts for a second, good luck, hope you get it fixed
