Hello everyone! Today I bought my first Fireblade 954RR. I really like how it is riding and the power is great but when I was riding today I heard some clicking noise. I heard it only two seperate times when I was waiting on idle and it was not constant. It makes sound like click and revs drop down a bit. And it is like one click and after that it is all good. While riding it has no problems, it accelerates fast and on idle I also like how it sounds but now I am a bit nervous about the clicks that I heard these two times. In video you can hear the click and see that revs drop down a bit in 5th second but after that everything was fine. It is not radiator fan because temperature was only 82°C and it was not spinning when checked it. Hope it is not something serious because I really like the Fireblade!
Video you can see in this link - https://streamable.com/vlmxuq , I could not upload video directly.

Hi! I have not resolved it, but in my opinion it was HTEV valve solenoid which might have stuck at some point and then randomly changed the position which causes more back pressure in exhaust which results in drop of revs. Click sound could be the sound of HTEV valve changing positions. I think that this problem is not coming from engine or injectors. I was riding my 954rr for 2 years with these clicks and everything was fine. But last year I crashed my 954rr and I took the engine head off and there was a crack in cylinder, so I bought 929rr engine and swaped it into my 954rr. I would suggest you to try to check HTEV, maybe change the HTEV controlling servo motor but I think there is no reason to stress about it, just enjoy the 954rr which is great bike. 😉
Forgot to mentioned that I still have these clicks at some times even with my swaped 929rr engine. Maybe I will try to adjust HTEV valve again next season.

Hey, thanks for the response. I will have to check out the HTEV. I have 2 954s. An 02 and 03. My 03 doesn't have this problem so I swapped all the sensors and coils and even the fuel pump and throttle bodies from that one to my 02 and it still did the hiccup. I even checked the valves and timing. My 03 HTEV servo went out along time ago so I deleted it. Thats the only thing besides the ecm I haven't swapped. Can't swap ecm because the 03 is a California model and the 02 is a 49 state so they are different due to the emissions crap on the Cali model. If the HTEV solves this I will be happy. I've spent alot of time trying to figure this out.
