Default Checking the oil?

Hey,
I cold started my bike today to see how clean the oil was through the small glass lense and I could barley see any oil at all is this because the bike was not warmed up fully? it only got to about 150 C.

Should I be seeing oil swishing around or was it to cold

thanks

When you checked oil level, was the bike on its side stand or straight up and down?

Well I held it upright then tried tilting it to see if i could see the oil move around, but I wasn't seeing much of anything.
Any help on what I should be seeing through the eye

you don't check the oil while it's running. you need it to not be pressurized - so on a cold morning, before you start it, check it standing up right
