Chain Conversion

I just upgraded from a br 929 to a 954 but i don't seem to get the same thrill probably because i installed the RK kit on the 929 which gives me a quick boost and top speed. I need to convert the sprocket of my 954 too but i do not know how many up/down i should go because i get the acceleration boost but i find it really hard to get to the top speed.

Please advice!

It's one or the other really with gearing. -1/+2 gives you quick acceleration but limits your top end and vise versa. Stock gearing is 16/43 on the 954, not sure what it is/what u had on the 929 but I would imagine they are similar.

the 929 had a stock 16f/42r so i went -1f/+1r. I really enjoyed that setting

-1+2 if u like wheelies...-1+4 IF U LIKKKKE WHEELIES!!!!

Are you looking for Higher top Speeds? If so.....the 954 really wont torch your short and curly's in that Department. I find -1/+1 (15/44) for the Street is great. You will drop some top end, bump up about 1-2k on your Tach when at Highway cruising speeds. But Overall find the bike to come "Alive" with this set up. On the Track I will run -1/+2 (15/45) It makes the front tire optional equipment! Crazy fun, but needed to get in,exit, and hopefully stay out in front of the Big boys. Dont forget your Speedo healer.......Healtech is the one Im running and find no issues with it.
