Yeah, I think if it were me, I wouldn't buy anything that needed a rebuild. The first rebuild's fun - the second one not so much

At a minimum you need to call a priest or witch-doctor to exorcise the evil spirits from the old block before selling it for parts. Selling it as-is would risk angering the machine-gods. In a pinch you can perform your own exorcism, but it takes a goodly quantity of alcohol and a few days off to do it properly

Good to see you still have a sense of humour, after all this, if it was me I'd of took a sledge hammer and can of petrol to it by now , great restraint matey, respect.

 

Okay so the only real thought I could have that would still be causing the the buckets to get swirls is that maybe the old cams, which seem fine and all, may indeed have some very tiny physical wear of some kind inducing the whine and swirls on the buckets, even though oil pressure has been restored.

I found some good condition cams for a good price and bought s'more buckets as well. I'll give those a try and see what happens after they arrive. I'll prolly inspect the strainer and oil pressure relief valve another time while I'm at it too, just to see if anything funky has started up down there, just to be sure.

If this don't do it, well, then I literally don't know what else I can possibly do after that... :/
