cbr 954 wheel swap compatability ??

Hi all,
I'm wanting to do a wheel swap on my 02 954 rr.
I have done lots of research on it and have found the rc51
to be the best upgrade plus they look just like moto GP bike rims.

I like the sp1 6 spoke rims better than the sp2 5 spokes.
My question has any one have a reference of fit and compatibility ?

Or know what rims will fit without machining. i'm ok with using different spacers and bearings.
Just curious if other wheels will fit without machining exe...
Yamaha r1 ?
Kawasaki ?
Suzuki ?
Honda vfrs?
Thanks to any help offered
Ryan

I don't know about Yamaha.

Kawi's - you'll run into issues with the front rotors and the rear will need some machining.

Suzuki - There's no point as it's basically the same 3 spoke type of rim.

VFR - Yeah, you'll need some machining to fit an SSSA on there.

RC51 rims are the easiest swap on the 954. It's as close to a real swap as it's going to get. The rear is a direct swap, IIRC. I think the front just needs some different spacers, not sure though.

RC51 SP1 or SP2's are the easiest swap. Here is a thread on how to do it, post #8 and #12 explain how it is done.

The SP1's swap over the same way but weigh much more than the SP2's.

If you want to swap over something different it is going to take a lot of work to do so and that is why I plan to do the SP1/2 swap in the future.

I have not seen a sp1 front wheel for sale in a while. I have seen a couple sets of sp2 wheels for sale recently.

Just got a wheel from a 929 to replace my bent 954 wheel.Does not want to mount up,are the spacers different on 929 and 954?

Front or rear? Either way - it shouldn't matter, they're the exact same forks/front end. Spacers are the same. And the rear should be identical too (as far as spacing). Rims from the 929 - '07 1000rr are interchangeable.

Why isn't it going? Maybe someone used that wheel with a different size axle for a different bike so the ID of the bearings are smaller or something - causing your axle not to go through it.

It is the rear.I replaced the wheel bearings and it seems the spacers are not letting the wheel clear the caliper mount.
