Default BEST FUEL MILEAGE

I'm going to be taking a trip to Alaska this summer with a few friends.
They have Goldwings, and I will be riding my 954rr.
What's the best mileage some of you have gotten out of your bikes?
It may not be feasible to take the trip due to the distances between stations.

I was hoping I could get around 40mpg with her.
Looks like I was dreamin tho.
If I keep the speed around 60, do ya think I could muster out around that mpg?
thanks,

well 954's have 4.9 gallon tank. .9 of that is reserve so i think that would be pushing it, and 30mpg is a little more real.. but anything is possible i guess

ORIGINAL: cbrforum

I came close to 170 on a road trip - but I think anything over 150 is pushing it. At 60 mph - youd probably want to take a break every 2 and half hours anyway. Besides - you can wheelie much easier than those Goldwings.
I'd like to see one of those Goldwings do a wheelie.LOL
If I can get 150 to 4 gallons of fuel that's not bad.
I thought about buying a Wing for the trip, but that would take the fun out of it.
Heck,I would fall asleep on one.

These guys I'm going to make the trip with are some hardcore riders.
Last year they did a road trip of 9000 miles in three weeks.
I'm going to have some sore butt cheeks. LOL
And there older then me, one of them is 79 yrs. of age.
So at 49, I guess I'm a spring chicken. HAHA

take care,
Pop's

well I lied, it was 4 weeks. LOL
I talked to them today about the trip. It looks like the cbr won't make it between the fuel stops. some of the stations are 200 miles apart.
So I either sell this bike an get a different one or not go on the trip. Hmmm.
