Default 954RR Vs RVT1000R

Hey,
I am wanting to get another bike and I am planning on buying a used 954RR. Anyways, I am no where near new to riding. I have been riding for about 4 and a half years now. My first bike was a 98 F3, the second was my 02 F4i. I have ridden many 1000cc bikes and I ride my buddies RVT 1000R all the time. I love the way it handles in the corners and it has great power. The only thing i really dont like about it, is that it is a V-Twin and it is loud as hell because it sounds a lot like a Harley.

I was just wanting to know how the 954RR would stand up to the RVT1000R on the track. I know they used to race the RVT but I dont know if they did with the 954RR.

If you could just give me your thoughts and maybe some specs on lean angles with both bikes and power. Just to get me out of my predicament of choosing between the RVT or the 954. I know some people are going to bias about this as well because I am posting in the 954 section so, if you just give me a " 954 rules" or something like that. That isnt going to help.

Thanks.

stay with the inline 4 cycle bikes-as parts are easier to come by,esp if you are using it on a race
track-i might be wrong as i only know the rvt1000r as sport version of the rc51
anybody out there-help!! this is a killer question??rc51-torque monster, awesome handling?
anybody???-vs 54!!!

RVT1000R is the RC51. SP-2 is the newer version of the RC, and SP-1 is the older (I think that line ended in 2001, and the SP-2 is after some refinements)
The RC51 makes an excellent trackbike, the power pulses of the V-twin are well suited to the track due to the drive you can get out of corners on minimal contact patch without balling up the rear tire on exits. The RC is far less suited for the track though... The seat is hard as a board, the powerband is very different from the I-4 (not as smoothe, or rev. happy), the RC51 is much heavier than the 954, but it is also much more sought after and exotic than a standard CBR954...
Its all about what you want & what you will most use it for; you are comparing apples to oranges.

954 makes more power, but lacks the midrange punch, & the RC-51 in my opinion, makes a much better track bike.

My conclusion = 954 for street... RC-51 for track...

Either way, it's a Honda, you can't really go wrong.

RVT1000R= RC-51

VTR1000 = Firestorm (toned down RC-51 engine, less power, different seating, frame, brakes, etc...)

I had a 01 RC that bike was fun for about 2 month's....
In my opinion the 954 feel's alot more planted on the street and track day's..
Granted the bike was an 01 and they changed the suspension and little geometry in 02.
Either way both bikes are in serious need of a steering dampner!!

If your just wanting to wheelie the 954 is the better choice..

I was actually talking to a guy who races his RC51 and he's pretty good. He said the 954 was a lot better for the track and faster. There was a guy racing a 954 the same day he was and he couldnt touch the 954 on straights and in the corners it was super fast because it's so light and that he wanted to get a 954 for racing and sell his RC51.
Personally I have no idea but this was what he was telling me.......

954 seems to me much easier to corner and what not...the RC-51 can be a great bike for tracking but you gots to get good at it...cause coming off an F4i and jumping on a 954, you'll see that cornering isn't so different and easily flickable...but if you get on the RC-51, you'll see that it's sort of a dog...until you get used to it...

oh yea but IMO...RC-51 just screams "badass" when it rolls mang! i love that bike!
