954 wont shift past 2nd
 

Hello everyone. Need some help here as I'm stuck at work. I rode into work this morning fine like any other day. Varying from stopped to 10mph to 100 no problems. I get off the highway and downshift from 6th to 1st until stopped at a light. I put the bike into neutral. Light turned green and I went off in 1st. Shifted to 2nd. Then tried to shift 3rd and it wouldn't go. No matter what I do I cant get past 2nd. I can go to 1st and N but that's it. When i took a look at work it is now a harder shift out of N to either gear and harder to get into N. Also the shifter seems to be sticky and doesn't like to go back to position. Any advice would be great.

First things first, look at the linkage that connects to the shift spline. It could be bound up.
