Is anybody running the Silverstar Ultra bulbs? They are on sale at autozone this week, but my buddy swears I should get an HID kit b/c the ultras will "burn up" the wiring harness. Thing is, 4100K is the color of the light and the package seems to indicate they pull 55watts, just like every other H7 out there. ideas?

 

I had some but didnt like them.They weren't any brighter than regular bulbs.I would suggest HID's for brighter lighting.Almost the same price.

 

I got a h7 bulb that is more a bright white bluish color. I like it, i wouldnt say its a silverstar. I could care less bout more visiablity, ive adapted to what visibility i do have plus my visor is tinted. I just like the look of a bright white/bluish color. I have some on my car and i could swear the visibility is worse but i think it looks great compared to those stock yellowish bulbs. Its about preference, yes hid will make it more visible but doesnt matter to me.

 

Thing is, I love how all the kits sell in pairs, while the 954 has 3 H7's as far as I know. How much do HID kits weigh?

 

Not much.

 

Silverstars blow... they don't last long at all. Basically in my 4runner I bought two sets at a ridiculous price and within 2 years I've cycled through all of them. Go HID for sure, that is what I did
