I have a Scott's, and I definitely wouldn't be riding like I do if I didn't have it. I got it at a pretty good price from a guy used. Keep an eye out on ebay, forums, craigslist, etc. You might find a good deal...

You have the right mindset though in just getting the damper/steering stabilizer. I just had a Scotts stabilizer installed and I didn't realize how much I needed it. I have no experience with other stabilizers but the honda mechanic that works on my bike, highly recommends the scotts, hence why I forked out the money. Bottom line, any stabilizer is better than no stabilizer but you always get what you pay for. I plan on keeping my bike the rest of my life, so I'm gonna spend the money on it.

i have a storzs performace dampender on it, tons of settings, basicly like ohlins, was $470, i think you cna still get them, saw one on ebay months ago for like $200 new.

but you def need one on this bikes, i rid tons of wheelies and bars do no move when sitting it back down from long power wheelies.

My stabilizer paid for itself last weekend....

Came down off a wheelie on a pretty windy day, and bike went into some headshake. The stabilizer calmed it down within about 1 second! DEFINITELY SAVED MY BUTT!!
