my bike has 20k miles on her and lately it has been making a loud ticking noise dureing warmup. sometimes a clunk like noise but not loud. is this normal or do i need to take it into the dealer before some real damage happens?

the noises pretty much stop after its all warmed up but i still here the ticking noise just not nearly as loud. a few weeks ago i had a service tech from a powersport dealer listen to it for the ticking but he said its no biggie what he heard. but it was warmed up then.

 

its either the Cam Chain Tensioner, or regular honda noises

Put in an APE manual CCT, $60
or just ignore the noise... its a Honda.

 

Hay buddie matt's right on the button i get the same warm up noise and i have just fitted a brand new cct and it still does it i asked a honda specialist and he said i could be a lazzy tentioner cause i was worried i might be the chain itself but he said thats pretty much unheard of but they will eat cct's alday so get a good one and fit it yourself its not so hard just a bit fiddily.Joe
