Surges @ 3000 rpm

Hi everyone- I just got a 2000 929, and have noticed once I hit about 3k rpm it really takes off. I was wondering if this is just how these bikes are, and if so would doing the HTEV mod smooth out this area in the rpm. It does have PCIII but I disconnected it to eliminate that variable. It also has an Akrapovic bolt on.

Thanks

Leave the HTEV not worth doing the mod for a few hp top end and a massive loss of tq down low and mid rmp. I believe wat you are feeling is the servo and htev cycling. It will be a little choppy at 3k and 7k when is goes full open. Unless you use the bike at the track ALOT I'd leave it in. Maybe a custom map anyways. hope this helps

Yeap, thats when the valve moves,3k half open 7k wide open.If you dont like it maybe get a smaller bike. Haha

Another thing to check is your gearing, how many teeth on your sprockets.
